Defibrillator
Assess the Situation
Ensure the scene is safe for both you and the victim.
Check if the person is unresponsive and not breathing or only gasping.
Call emergency services or ask someone nearby to do so.
Begin CPR (if trained) until a defibrillator is ready.
Prepare and Apply the Defibrillator
Turn on the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) by pressing the power button.
Follow the audio and visual prompts provided by the AED.
Expose the victim's chest and ensure it's dry.
Apply the adhesive pads to the chest as indicated by the AED (one pad on the upper right chest and the other on the lower left side).
Deliver Shock and Continue Care
Ensure no one is touching the victim before delivering a shock.
Press the "shock" button if instructed by the AED.
Immediately resume CPR for 2 minutes after the shock or as directed by the AED.
Follow AED instructions until emergency responders arrive or the person shows signs of recovery.
Post-Use Steps
Once emergency services arrive, inform them about the use of the AED and provide any details they may need.
If the victim regains consciousness, monitor their breathing and condition until help arrives.
Ensure the AED is properly turned off, and replace any used pads or batteries if necessary, following the device's maintenance guidelines.
